Ex minister Dokka Manikyavara Prasad on Friday claimed that the Congress party was strong in Seemandhra region.
He said that the success of week long bus yatra under the leadership of APCC President Dr N Raghuveera Reddy and Union Minister K Chiranjeevi has proved that the popularity of Congress remained affected due to the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. He said that the bus yatra has rejuvenated the party cadre in the entire Seemandhra region and Congress might return to power in the ensuing general elections.
Dokka also alleged that the leaders of upper castes were creating obstacles in the political empowerment of BCs, SCs, STs and other weaker sections.
